torso crawler

torso crawler, also aka grave grabber - I saw a url where someone had built one of these and I just had to have one. It's a very simple mechanism using a windshield wiper motor and 12v power source to operate it. I used a wig head with a halloween mask on it, along with some LED eyes w/ milk jug lenses to diffuse the light. Sound in '06 was provided by a looped answering machine tape and a cassette player, but in '07 it is to be via mp3 player and powered PC speakers. It is hooked up to a flood light motion detector for activation.
